Poetry riddle by another Bealeton poet

The smoke of a thousand guns
Hovers in the air
The yells and chants of sailors
Ring about your ears
Hark! A shot is fired!
The cannon fire roars
A ship appears alongside
You know not what's in store
As musket fire encircles
You strain and squint to see
Through the smoke and flashes
That send men down to ME
For I have eyes like any man
I have arms and ears
I have a temper that at times
Will justify men's fears
You know so much about me.
And as you sink into my depths
You know. I AM THE SEA.

The Rhinestone Reef

by a Bealeton poet

In a jewelry box ocean
The gems of the sea
Shimmer and dance
In harmony
Golden gills
And silver scales
Sapphire sails
And topaz tails
A necklace of noodle fish
And diamond dace
The jasper jellyfish
Who lacks a face
Peridot perch
And ruby remora
Dance with bixbite betas
In an anemone aurora
Amethyst anchovies
And opal octopi
Watch crystal crabs
Scuttling by
Guppies of garnet
And pearl pufferfish
To see these beautiful creatures
Would be a whale of a wish!
