Closure

Yesterday I spotted you hangin' out with someone new
Come on, dude, I can't believe who
Did it hurt, oh yes it hurt, but not as much as
I thought it would
I'm getting closer
Closer to closure
I finally took your pictures down and all that
other stuff I found
Hidden somewhere in my closet
I used to wear your shirt to bed
But now it's in the trash instead
I don't wanna be reminded. No, no.
I'm getting closer
Closer to closure
Every day's closer
Closer to closure
I saw you today takin' my breath away
But then you opened your mouth without thinking
And then I recalled why I ended it all
And it makes me feel good about leaving
My instincts tell me that you're having doubts
Why would you doubt me?
Someone like you should be lovin' me true
And not thinkin' of what it will cost you.
You've been hangin' out with them so long
That some of them has rubbed off on you
Now you're careful around me for some reason.

Bealeton poet's response to Two Chinese Guys

Written by Kumogoro (pseudonym)

we speak all these languages -
know all the sounds,
we can sing a thousand songs
in a thousand tongues
in a thousand sounds
in one place.
our place. our little place.

we grew up together as one -
can't tear us apart,
we do all these things for fun,
for laughs
and gags
and rainy days that last forever
we pass by. in a flash.

him and me - me and him
we're now online - WOW!
just for fun -
people know our names -
know our faces, too
famous?
know us?
him or me?
me or him?

it started as fun.
now who are we?
we only lipsynch to be us -
the took it for real
we took it for granted
what happened?
we're on TV.
we're on live!

we speak these languages -
know all the sounds,
we can sing a thousand songs
in a thousand tongues
in a thousand sounds
in one place
our place.

we sit now...
in our place -
still our place...just bigger.

Birthday and Love poems (acrostic)

Birds are circling overhead

Indifferent to the life below them
Ritual dance in the sky
To bring life to their nest.
Happenings go on everyday
Days and days go past
And the eggs begin to hatch
Young birds learning how to fly.

Born in the morning
Inside a bright hospital
Right in summertime
The finest time of
Heat on a
Dreamy day
And boy, oh, boy was I
Young and new then.

----

Blustery bold
Indigo institution
Rough roads riding right
There to the
Hospital. Hopeful
Dads dancing
And always
Yelling, "Yay!"

Mom

Mom is a person who is there for you

through good times as well as bad.

She's there to hold your hand when it needs to be held

and to help you when you need help the most.

And without even asking she is there for you

forever and always she will always be there for you!

Poetry riddle by another Bealeton poet

The smoke of a thousand guns
Hovers in the air
The yells and chants of sailors
Ring about your ears
Hark! A shot is fired!
The cannon fire roars
A ship appears alongside
You know not what's in store
As musket fire encircles
You strain and squint to see
Through the smoke and flashes
That send men down to ME
For I have eyes like any man
I have arms and ears
I have a temper that at times
Will justify men's fears
You know so much about me.
And as you sink into my depths
You know. I AM THE SEA.

Death's Staring Eyes:

a personification of that which we all fear.

Written by a Bealeton teen

Yellow and gleaming
Slits that are seeming
to pry open my heart's
iron door.

Lo! It is open and the deathly soldiers
throw tokens,
of ill-fated omens
through my soul's writhing core.

Then the grief, it starts flowing,
like a foul wind that's blowing,
carrying a scent that is
murky as mud.

The unmoving stare,
that one constant glare,
shall always be there,
lest it miss my despair.

The ever staring eyes
both deep in my cries
and never leave me alone.
Death's staring eyes,
look away.

The Rhinestone Reef

by a Bealeton poet

In a jewelry box ocean
The gems of the sea
Shimmer and dance
In harmony
Golden gills
And silver scales
Sapphire sails
And topaz tails
A necklace of noodle fish
And diamond dace
The jasper jellyfish
Who lacks a face
Peridot perch
And ruby remora
Dance with bixbite betas
In an anemone aurora
Amethyst anchovies
And opal octopi
Watch crystal crabs
Scuttling by
Guppies of garnet
And pearl pufferfish
To see these beautiful creatures
Would be a whale of a wish!

Pirate Poetry written at Teen Coffee House

Acrostic

Pirate poetry
Is fun!
Reading
A lot
Takes you
Everywhere on

Tongue Twister

Pirates play piano partly perfectly while playing groovy gigantic guitars great!

Limerick

There once was a pirate named Pete
who loved to eat parrot meat.
But his parrot named Peggy
ate the pirate's leggy.
Now Pete limps along on the street.

The Ballad of Long John Silvers and the Quicksand Treasure

Our boat was on the ocean
floating up to an island.
Long John Silvers lost 3 fingers
to a shark.

singing:
"The shark had a big giant mark
that looked like a tree
and stung like a bee.
She led the boat to ruin
on an island they maroon'd."

He followed a trail
next thing you know
he walked into quicksand
and sank with a thump.

singing:
"A treasure chest below me feet
and now I stay and live and eat!
15 men on a dead man's chest
Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of rum!"

Spoonerism (in honor of Runny Babbit by Shel Silverstein)

Tirates Preasure

My name is chesure test.
My landels are my histening ears.
My lock is my nunny rose.
Open my louth mid and glee what sows!
